Environmental Assessment for Proposed MQ-9 Operations Group Beddown

December 20, 2017

To support the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vernadero developed an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed beddown of an MQ-9 Operations Group, to include facilities construction and personnel. The beddown would occur at one of five locations: Shaw AFB, Moody AFB, Offutt AFB, Davis-Monthan AFB, or Mountain Home AFB. Altogether, up to 8 acres of land could be developed within a 17-acre project area with facilities and infrastructure to support an estimated 460 personnel at one of the five bases. With the MQ 9 Operations Group beddown action potentially starting in December 2017, Vernadero completed the EA and Finding of No Significant Impact in seven months from start to finish. Vernadero supported the preparation of the EA and assisted the five AFBs in coordinating Section 7, Section 106, and tribal and state governmental consultation, as well as public review of the EA.
