On Veterans Day, Give Back to the Men and Women in America's Military
November 11, 2015
On Veterans Day, Vernadero joins the rest of the nation in showing respect to the service members and veterans of the U.S. military, both those actively serving their country and those who have served. That respect goes beyond a single day of parades, praise, and patriotism. Our military troops and veterans are owed more than one day of our respect—they deserve the support of a community. In that spirit, Vernadero supports charities that aid America's veterans and urges other citizens of our nation—America's great community—to do the same.
Our support focuses on the Wounded Warrior Project, Disabled American Veterans, Military Order of the Purple Heart, and Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, but there are many more ways to help. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs webpage lists several volunteer opportunities, from donating to providing transportation. Organizations like Adopt a Platoon and Help Hospitalized Veterans boost morale by providing pen pals, sending care packages, and organizing events nationwide. The Volunteermatch website offers more than 3,000 local and virtual opportunities to help veterans and military families.
Vernadero offers our sincere thanks to the many men and women who have answered our country's call to military duty.
