November 1, 2016
Vernadero is proud to be awarded a contract at Fort Huachuca to install the solar water-heating system for its Barnes Field House. The system provides heat for the swimming pool and the domestic water system. The project involves the installation of 3,200 square feet of flat-panel solar collectors and associated plumbing and includes an upgrade of the facility's mechanical systems.
The U.S. Department of Defense has long recognized the strategic importance of energy management to its mission. By reducing energy consumption and developing clean, on-site, renewable energy sources, energy managers at DoD installations enhance energy security, which is defined as the assured access to reliable supplies of energy and the ability to protect and deliver sufficient energy to meet mission-essential requirements.
