Michael Collins, PhD
Founder, President & Construction Services Director
Michael Collins, PhD, is the Construction Services Director for Vernadero. He is a U.S. Navy veteran with more than 25 years of experience as a DOD public works and environmental services executive. He excels in matching federal government infrastructure and environmental program requirements with experienced consulting professionals. Doing so in a cost-effective and timely manner that provides a strong value proposition to the Government is his expertise. Dr. Collins is the current Mayor of the Town of Paradise Valley, Arizona.
Eric Webb, PhD
Vice President & Technical Services Director
Eric Webb, PhD, is the Technical Services Director for Vernadero. He has over 20 years of experience directing environmental studies for military and water resources projects nationwide. He has managed indefinite delivery contracts for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Naval Facilities Engineering Command. Eric has worked closely with clients, staff, and regulatory professionals as an environmental scientist conducting wetland delineations and permitting, habitat restoration designs, natural resources surveys and management, Section 7 consultation support, and National Environmental Policy Act compliance.
Dan Becker, GISP
Vice President & Information Systems & Technology Director
Dan Becker, GISP, is the Information Systems & Technology Director for Vernadero. A certified Geographic Information Systems Professional, Dan oversees GIS data analysis and quality control. He is proficient with DoD-specific requirements including each branches SDSFIE data model. Dan administers Vernadero's ArcGIS Enterprise deployment and is versed in all aspects of the ArcGIS software suite. He works closely with Vernadero's clients to identify their unique GIS, GPS, and data management needs and aids in development of customized solutions using a variety of programming/scripting languages.
Joanne Maiden is the Business Manager for Vernadero. She brings more than three decades of experience in accounting, finance, and treasury management to the company. Joanne supports Company and Program leadership by performing accounting/financial reporting, human resources, office management, and recordkeeping. Among other duties, Joanne manages contract billings, account payable, accounts receivable, payroll and personnel records. Her experience puts her in a strong position to safeguard company assets and maintain strong financial control while achieving all federal accounting regulation requirements.
Mike Smith, REM
Client Support Manager
Mike Smith, REM, is a U.S. Army veteran who brings more than 40 years of DOD experience to Vernadero's workforce solutions and environmental health and safety services. As a Registered Environmental Manager, his experience has focused on helping our clients with on-site environmental training and meeting stringent job-site safety standards including the management, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials and hazardous waste, including emergency response. He also provides deploying military units with training in biological risks, hazardous materials and hazardous waste.
Wayne Alves, REM
Client Support Manager
Wayne Alves, REM, has over 40 years of DOD experience, including managing 150 facility, construction, environmental and personal services contracts for the U.S. Army Reserve. A Registered Environmental Manager, Wayne is uniquely experienced with U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserve contracts and business practices in the environmental and facilities management sector. Client satisfaction is the driving force behind Vernadero's success as a small business, and we are blessed to have Wayne as part of our continuing commitment to client service.
Client Support Manager
Gretchen Kent is a U.S. Army veteran and former Director of Plans Analysis and Integration at U.S. Army Garrison Fort Huachuca. Gretchen helps strengthen Vernadero's existing client relationships and builds productive, long-lasting relationships with new clients. She confirms that Vernadero meets or exceeds program and project goals while assisting us in identifying value-added client benefits. Gretchen has 25 years of environmental and engineering experience, including 18 years of service at Fort Huachuca.
